“Replaced three separate apps with Elec-Mate. Certs, quotes, and scheduling all in one place.”

Key takeaways

  1. 01The handover should explain the result first: satisfactory, unsatisfactory, or limited in scope.
  2. 02Clients need the urgent defects separated from improvement recommendations.
  3. 03A clean PDF and a clean verbal explanation reduce call-backs and confusion.
  4. 04The next step should be obvious: remedials, further investigation, or routine retention of the report.
  5. 05Software helps because the report, schedule, photos, and follow-on quote can stay together.

01 · Certificate Guide

Start with the report outcome

The first thing the client needs to understand is the overall result. If the report is unsatisfactory, say that plainly. If the inspection was limited, say what was excluded. If the installation is satisfactory, still explain the key notes so the handover does not feel rushed or careless.

02 · Certificate Guide

Separate urgent actions from improvements

  • Defects that need urgent remedial work.
  • Items that still need investigation before a full decision can be made.
  • Non-urgent improvements or upgrades that are worth pricing separately.

03 · Certificate Guide

Make the report usable after you leave site

A good handover means the client can re-open the report next week and still understand it. That is why the wording, the coding, and the schedule detail matter so much. If you expect a facilities manager, landlord, or homeowner to act on the report, the actions need to be obvious.

One App for Everything!

Elec-Mate is my go to app for business and electrical work. It's feature rich without feeling cluttered. A true all in one app for quotes, certs, calculations, RAMS, EICRs, and more. I use it every day without fail, and it makes my workflow much smoother since I'm not jumping between apps anymore. The price-to-feature ratio is excellent. Any issues I've had, the developer responds within the hour and usually fixes them the same day. 100% recommend.
